Tuah manusia, siapa yang tahu.
That's not the problem.
Mom has a colleague at school. She is apparently married to this guy (which I've never met, pardon me) who works for Petronas. He is probably a senior engineer or something. Pardon me again, I do not know much about engineering.
That's not the problem.
Every time Mom and I pass her (with or without her kids) in the staff room, Mom would say hi to her. When they are gone, Mom would turn to me and say "Did I tell you that her husband works for Petronas? His salary is *insert appropriate value of salary here* and they go for holiday at overseas every single school break. They are rich, for us, but she always said that they aren't rich and their money is not enough". And I would say, "Oh. So?" She would end the conversation with, "Just saying" note with that smirk on her face.
That's not the problem.
The scene that I wrote above is repeated EVERY SINGLE TIME we bump into the colleague.
This is the problem.
I have two theories to explain on what she was trying to imply: FIRST, she wants to tell me that I should regret for giving up the engineering offer in the past or SECOND, she wants to tell me that I should marry an engineer in the future.
I bet it's the first one. Many would bet on the second one because of the just-saying note.
Tuah manusia, siapa yang tahu.
True story.
footnote: I miss drawing.
