Better paranoid than sorry.
I don't know how to write this but I am still too traumatized over what I have experienced last weekend. I can be calm but quietly over paranoid. Anyway, the thing is my housemate, Hawa almost got her bag snatched by two motorcyclists while we were walking home together. Later, we witnessed my classmate's bag being snatched by probably the same two motorcyclists that tried on Hawa!
To experience once was already traumatizing enough for me but twice (in a day!) is beyond me.
I have always had this impression that Section 17 Shah Alam neighbourhood is a safe place for us students. My roommate (who is a truly Shah Alam people) had once warned us that this section is a bit dangerous. To the rest of us, since our part of neighbourhood is near to a primary school, we assumed it is safe. Last Sunday had proved us wrong, apparently.
Anyway, read Hawa's part of the story here.
It was a good thing for the fact that Hawa ALMOST got snatched few minutes before the real incident happened to my classmate. The reason is Hawa's case made us more paranoid and conspicuous to our surrounding. When it happened on my classmate, eventually we just arrived at the crime scene! Hawa quickly reacted by saying "No plate no plate! Call polis call polis! (Plate number! Call the police!)" which caused the rest of us including me to get as many details as possible on the snatch thief and the motorcycle.
Ever since this case, the journey to our faculty has become double as far as usual.
Until then.
