my mother, my teacher

I am a bad daughter thus, I am afraid of karma.

The girls in my family went out for dinner previously. My brother went for tuition and my dad was at work.

In the car Emak expressed her dissatisfaction of the education system which the teacher ask the students to stand on the chair first and if they get to answer, the may sit down. She questioned on why do the teachers have to punish the students even before they could get the chance to answer it. She claimed that that is just humiliating. She said one better way is to actually provoke the students to volunteer. It will develop bravery and leadership quality in the students.

Anyway, my sister and I disagree (But I thought I went overboard <----masalah emosi entahapehape). We think that if the students get to answer, he/she is rewarded. Everybody is suppose to stand up, answer the question and sit down afterward. I think if the students are comfortable in their seat, when the teacher asks, they don't want to volunteer but hoping that others will answer it for them. Alas, merekalah golongan yang terselamat setiap masa.

Deep insisde, I may agree with Emak.
Emak is a teacher, she probably knows the outcome of her skills of teaching better than I do.
As a student, I don't like to stand up on chairs, or even on the ground. But looking at more relevant reasons, I think that my idea works better.

Lama-lama, semua orang pun dah biasa dengan keadaan tu. Cakap pasal humiliation, sebenarnya takde apa nak malu kalau kena berdiri atas kerusi ke apa. Sebab kalau belajar tapi malu, memang tak jadi apa la. Belajar mana boleh malu, pada aku la. I mean, kan ada pepatah malu bertanya, sesat jalan.

Kadang-kadang bila student tanya soalan yang macam obvious semua orang tahu, the orang lemparkan kata-kata seperti 'weh soalan bodoh la tu'.
Aku tak suka, sebab pada aku takde soalan pun yang bodoh.

Sebelum belajar, semua orang pun tak tahu apa.
Kalau pandai dah, tahu semua benda dah, tak payah belajar la macam tu kan?

Satu contoh, masa sekolah menengah dulu ada cikgu Sejarah ni nama dia cikgu T. Cikgu T ni memang ramai orang respek dia sebab dia suka bercerita dalam kelas and cerita dia bukan calang-calang cerita, benda yang dia cerita factual and supported by relevant evidences.
Cool kan?
My friends and I thought, dia ni baca suratkhabar mesti tengok semua detail and terperinci.

Anyway, masa subjek Sejarah dia akan cerita macam-macam then sebelum keluar kelas dia akan kata, 'ok baca Bab [insert no atau tajuk bab here], minggu depan saya tanya'.

I like this method sebab confirm aku akan cuba sedaya upaya untuk hafal satu bab supaya boleh duduk.
Selain menggunakan skill hafalan, skill menjawab dengan pantas pun perlu jugak.
Tuah juga memainkan peranan jadi kena banyak berdoa kalau nak duduk cepat.

Maybe, different people have different perception. I don't know what others would think of these method of teaching. It's funny kan? To actually argue with Emak about this?

Toodles.
